Sandy Shore

Sandy Shore is the first apartment as you enter Water's Edge and is wheelchair accessible. The ultra-modern apartment benefits from underfloor central heating, electrically operated window blinds, a sound system (speakers in the ceilings of every room) plus has stunning views of the South Beach and over to Caldey Island.

The front door opens to a large hall with wide, wheelchair friendly, doors leading to:

• Sitting room / Kitchen
• Utility (with washer/dryer)
• Main Bathroom
• Master Bedroom with en-suite
• Large Second Bedroom

Outside there is a large private terrace where children and pets may play or sunbathe while you keep an eye on them from the sitting room or outside on either the picnic bench or the balcony. When you're ready for the beach, it's simply a matter of opening the gate and you're there!

Disabled Access

A sloped ramp means there is easy access to Sandy Shore which is on the first floor so there is no need to use the stairs on the other side of the walkway. Sandy Shore is the only apartment at Water's Edge with an outside terrace with a gate leading onto the beach - the rear gate may also be unlocked for easier wheelchair access if required. All doors are 36 inches (92cm) wide and wheelchair friendly. The en-suite walk-in shower has both an overhead and hand-held shower plus a modern shower stool to aid bathing. 

Only Sandy Shore and apartments 2 to 5 are suitable for wheelchair access as all other apartments require stairwell access.

Dogs

As the apartment benefits from a large ground floor terrace, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Sandy Shore. A maximum of 1 Large, 2 Medium or 3 Small dogs are allowed and are not charged extra. Standard dog sizes (per vetcarenews.com) are as follows: Small typically under 24lbs & shoulder-height under 16 inches, medium 25-59lbs & 16-22inches and large 60-99lbs & over 22inches). A dog categorized as 'Giant' subject to prior approval only.

Some other apartments at Water's Edge have either no balcony or just a small balcony with metal slat flooring, which has caused some injury to dog claws caught between the slats - hence often they don't like the flooring and/or are frightened to walk on it or the stairs. Sandy Shore is the only apartment with a patio door leading onto an outside terrace (block paving) with a gate onto the beach!

Parking

Access to Water's Edge is via a key-coded electric gate. Private allocated under-croft parking underneath building two and marked '1' on the ground (it is the first single bay). The parking bays light automatically during the evening.

Parking at Water's Edge is for one vehicle per apartment only in the allocated & numbered parking bay (number 1). If you will be arriving with two cars, the second may be parked in a visitor (RES) bay for the short-term.

Linen & Towels etc

Quality bed linen and towels are provided.

A travel cot and high chair are available. Cot linen and beach towels are not provided.

 Heating & Cooling in the apartment

The apartment benefits from under-floor central heating for the cooler months and for the summer there's Meaco air circulators in the bedrooms and the living room. As we all know, air conditioning is not 'environmentally friendly' - these cooling units are very efficient and, at the lower settings, are super quite - so there's no problem hearing the tv or getting to sleep when it's hot!

Sitting Room

Contemporary leather chaise sofa and chair, 55" LG 4k satellite smart tv with catch-up & Netflix films mean there's plenty of things to do even if the weather is not so good. The patio windows to the front open wide plus there's a doorway leading out onto the decked balcony and the terrace beyond.

• Dining table and chairs
• Sideboard with a selection of games

The electric blinds work at the touch of a button so it's easy to get the right amount of shade from the sun. The TV, DVD/CD and Internet radio with Bluetooth all work through the multi-room sound system via ceiling speakers in all rooms - so, if you wish, you may listen to music or TV/Radio wherever you are, even in the bath or shower!

Kitchen

Modern fully fitted kitchen:

• oven, hob & microwave (all quality Siemens appliances)
• boiling water tap
• dishwasher
• fridge, freezer & wine fridge
• Sage smart toaster and kettle
• Senseo coffee machine (plus supply of coffee pods)

Utility Room

Sink plus Siemens washer/dryer and Dyson cordless vacuum. Cupboards for ironing-board, iron etc. Also houses the boiler and underfloor heating system. 

Master Bedroom with En-suite

A spacious and luxurious room with a king-sized bed. Large built-in wardrobes mean there's plenty of clothes storage for those holiday essentials! LG 24" Smart TV with catch-up and internet plus a Wi-Fi clock radio so that you can wake up to your favourite radio station, wherever in the world it is (note: FM and DAB reception at Water's Edge, beneath the cliffs, is poor and hence the need for an internet radio)!

There's a large full height wall mirror plus a powerful hairdryer close by. The (John Lewis) hairdryer has a long 3 metre cord with plenty of options for optimum hair styling (3 heat and 2 airflow settings). A previous guest commented that our earlier hairdryer didn't have enough functions and the cord was too short - so we changed it!

'Hotel Safe' for your valuables - set your own 4-6 digit code when locking and use the same code to open.

The en-suite has a large walk-in shower with both an overhead and hand-held shower. 

Bedroom Two

Bedroom Two has a 32-inch LG Smart TV with catch-up and internet. The good sized room includes a built-in wardrobe and sleeps four:

• Double bed
• Two (full-size) bunk beds

Everyone loves the fish-like lampshade - so appropriate for the beach location!

Deck

Door from the sitting room onto large decking with a table and two/four chairs to sit and enjoy an alfresco drink, day or night.

Terrace

A terrace with a large picnic table with sun parasol to relax and watch the children play on the beach. 

Sandy Shore is the only apartment at Water's Edge with a garden terrace. 

Gate onto the beach

Sandy Shore is the only apartment at Water's Edge where one can walk out of the sitting room, through the private patio and gate, straight onto the beach!

Now, this truly is a "beach holiday".
